On the road and back again

Remember that Willie Nelson tune? Years ago we lived near Veteran's Park in Norwalk (CT) where they hold the Oyster Festival - coming up this weekend, I see from my link. We would bring the kids home for their early bedtimes, darken the lights, open wide the windows, and listen to whatever concert they had going on - the sea and our proximity apparently lending great acoustics as we had fantastic sound...I do believe Willie Nelson played there one year (and thus, in our living room as well).
We had a great time up in Mystic for our 25th wedding anniversary - but then again, my husband is my favorite person to hang out with (possibly why we've made 25 years!).
If you do go to the Oyster Festival, be sure to see if the church ladies are still doling out the best ever (beats the ones even in the South although this recipe at Delish looks divine) shredded pork bbq sandwiches - and make sure you ask for your 'slaw on top of the pork so they know you're not an amateur.

We used to laugh at this song because I think he had another one about being a family man and loving his home. :<) Lucky you. That must have been wonderful. Now I have two questions - if I've asked before, just pretend I didn't :<)

Where did you get the name of your blog? I think it is my favorite of all. And the picture on the sidebar - is that a self-portrait of you and your baby?

Hi Nan,
The name comes from a Leonard Cohen song that Judy Collins made popular - Suzanne - which has always been a favorite of mine (especially as I am a Susan)and was one of the few songs I could play on guitar (badly) as a teen. The line is "and the sun pours down like honey on our lady of the harbor...".
The oil painting is a fair size in real life, 3x2ish, and I am holding my daughter, Jessica in it. She is now 23 :) It was painted by a dear friend, Elizabeth Shelton who is a costume designer when not painting all sorts of things! I have some of her watercolors hanging in my home as well. She's terrific.
Cheers!

Thanks Susan. I did like the song, but didn't remember that line. And wow, you know both a published writer AND a painter. I'm hobnobbing with the right blogger. ;<)
