New poem

So pleased to have a new poem up at Woman Around Town. This one, Tappan Zee, speaks of a bridge I have traveled across many times. You can access the poem at womanaroundtown.com
Enjoy!

Strawberry moon

I like the composition and dreamy feel of this photo, taken night of the solstice.

Summer reading - let the games begin!

We have a reading road trip theme at a library and we are about to have our summer kick off party.
Paige Turner is heading across the country -

Paige is helping to keep Austin weird!

Paige is shooting the Rapids at the Grand Canyon.

The dudes on Mount Rushmore - or a bunch of rockers?

Lake Bemidji in Minnesota, one of the many places that lay claim to Paul Bunyan.

The Iowa state fair (been there! Mighty cool).
A purrmaid and a dogfish spotted at Florida's Weeki Watchee.
And home sweet home ( ready to read!).

Happy Father's Day

My father was a devoted gardener, the sort who pours over catalogs all winter, plotting their garden designs, who would give a tour of the garden soon after I arrived, telling me all about his blooms.  I have not really inherited his green thumb but my sister and I both adore flowers and a good garden. These orange beauties were always in abundance come summer.

Breadcrumbs reading

Was happy to be reading with great fellow writers Sunday for Breadcrumbs.

It's a great concept -write something inspired by a previous piece, a breadcrumb. My piece will be released in the fall, but was glad to share it with the folks who drove through awful rain to Little Madison Kitchen in Larchmont, NY.
Here's a screen shot of their latest piece, a terrific story by Ken Valenti. Go to the site, read the work, submit, support, share.
