I dearly love Ralph Waldo and this quote, but (I hope you'll laugh) I was reminded of the scary, scary (to me) movie, What Lies Beneath. :<)
Oh, that is too funny! I never even thought about the ladder/water/beneath connection until now! Very much the creature from the Black Lagoon rising, I see now!

No, I missed that one - onto to interlibrary-loan for the dvd! I like both those actors. Thanks.
