Such Color!

The Japanese Maple at the side of the house never ceases to astonish me each October.

New poems

In the second issue of the journal that draws its name from the beautiful Hudson River, I am so pleased to have two new poems out in River, River.

Early Autumn walk

This tree is the first being to greet you as you enter the grounds. I am fond of trees bearing their names.

The way its old limbs sprawl reminds me of the great southern oak we saw in South Carolina.

The chapbook arrived

And I am so pleased with it. Worth the wait.  If you are interested in getting your very own copy, go to the Finishing Line Press website or, eventually, Amazon, where it will soon also be available.

Sunday Quote

Loved this sign on a wall in either Scotland or England (many stops on road trip, it blurs).

Goodbye to a Great Dog

My dear friend's dog, Moonlight, passed away this weekend. Moonie was a great family dog, a loyal companion, and possibly part Wookie. You will be deeply missed, Moonlight.

Alnwick gardens

At the garden and the castle in Alnwick, Northumberland, England

Appropriately called Sunnyside Up

Looking up

The only fountain without scads of children splashing about..a hot day
A magic door

Edinburgh

Out and about this lovely city
It's the Fringe festival crowds and high season for tourists

Sword swallower outside of the museum

Cool heads ruling in the museum but it's wild around town

A little more Vermont

Best movie theatre and terrific restaurant.  Waitsfield, The Big Picture.
Noontime bear sighting on Bragg Hill
Yes, we were thrilled (and happily in my car)
Very happy to see nature from my car when nature is a bear (who looks small here but was not at all)
Of course this trash monster in Burlington was pretty alarming too :)

Always a beautiful spot in Warren to relax
And a shop in Waitsfield that is straight out of a fairy tale.
